Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about ByteDiet
How do I count calories with AI?
Simply take a photo of your meal using ByteDiet's camera or upload an image. The AI analyzes the food, identifies ingredients and portion sizes, then calculates total calories, protein, carbs, and fats automatically. No manual searching or typing required.
Is ByteDiet accurate?
ByteDiet uses advanced AI models trained on extensive food data to provide accurate nutritional estimates. While not as precise as weighing food on a kitchen scale, it delivers reliable results suitable for everyday calorie tracking. You can also manually edit portions for greater accuracy.
How does the health score work?
Each meal receives a health score from 1 to 10 based on nutritional balance, ingredient quality, and overall healthiness. A score of 8-10 indicates an excellent meal, 6-7 is good, 4-5 is fair, and below 4 suggests the meal could be healthier.
Can I manually edit my meal analysis?
Yes! After the AI analysis, tap the Edit button to adjust ingredient portions in grams, remove items, add missing ingredients, or include sauces and condiments. The Recalculate button then updates your totals based on your edits.
Is my nutrition data private and secure?
Your data is protected with row-level security, meaning only you can access your meal history and personal information. We do not share your data with third parties. You can delete any meal entry at any time.
What languages does ByteDiet support?
ByteDiet is available in English, Bulgarian, Spanish, German, and French. The AI responds in your selected language, and the entire interface is localized for each language.
Can I track my daily macros?
Yes! ByteDiet provides a daily summary showing your total calories, protein, carbs, and fats consumed each day. The progress calendar lets you view your historical data and track consistency over time.
Does ByteDiet work with any type of food?
ByteDiet's AI can recognize a wide variety of foods including homemade dishes, restaurant meals, packaged foods, and beverages. For best results, ensure good lighting and capture the entire meal in the photo.
